Since the spread of the HIV(Human Immunodeficiency Virus), the origin of the virus has always been in a conspiracy. Most of the scientists believe that the virus came from monkeys, which is then transmitted to the humans. It is found that it is not a man made virus. Yet some of the people and the conspiracy theorists still believe that the AIDS is caused by the man made virus and it claimed that it may be done with genocidal intent. As there are more conspiracies that the virus originated in American or the African countries, some people believe that it was intentionally created by the CIA.     • Even after the decades, there are some crazy conspiracy theories about AIDS that people still believe. Almost half of the population agreed with the theory that AIDS was made intentionally by humans. However, the scientists stated that HIV is not an artificial virus but originated from the chimpanzee( same species) in the name of SIV(Simian Immunodeficiency Virus). Why are people particularly accusing the CIA? The main reason behind that is the American government supposedly wanted to exterminate the African American population. This theory was outraged when it was believed by the Dr. Wangari Maathai, the 2004 Nobel Peace Prize winner. He claimed that HIV is a tool that is made by some evil minded scientists to take control over the Africans or the Black community. Some people claimed that it was created in the laboratory and spreaded without any control, while some many accuse the CIA for letting it out intentionally.
    • To object this theory, I would like to say that humans have gained the knowledge and the technology to make the complete virus only in recent years and cannot be made in 1959. Hence this theory is considered a hoax.

    • Many conspiracy theorist and people stated that the HIV was created by the CIA to eradicate the homosexuals or gay people. According to a recent survey, 5% of the population seem to have belief in this theory, while 53% of the people strongly oppose this theory. Since the spread of the virus started in the 1980s, the epidemic began and caused various problems among the gay people.
    • Some people claim that the virus was deliberately injected into gay men during the hepatitis-B experiment. The main reason behind the outbreak of the conspiracy theory is that the hepatitis vaccine experiment coincided with the AIDS cases in America. Another reason that made people to have belief in this theory is that the HIV virus was identified in four young gay persons.
      Even today this theory is believed by many people that it was done by the government in major areas including New York, San Francisco and Los Angeles, where the modern culture is accepted. This theory was believed by everyone as it is an incurable disease which has the ability to kill has appeared into the world suddenly. This conspiracy theory was later debunked, as it was only a theory which cannot be proven. It is necessary to be aware that no one can inject the virus only to the gay people or to the homosexuals.

    • The world knows about the discrimination happened to the African Americans and it stills exists in certain places. As there are always racism problems in that country, this theory created a much more impact on the African people. This conspiracy may sound quite alarming as it deals with black communities. Conspiracy theorists took it to an extent to spread hatred towards the CIA by introducing these theories. According to this theory, the CIA intentionally did this to the black people to terminate them from America and was a method of genocide against the black people. People and the conspiracy theorists cannot ignore the fact that from 1932 to 1972, almost 400 African American with syphilis were kept for study. Later when the medicine was found, it was not given to them intentionally.
    • However, it is found out that it is not done by the government or the scientists, thus theory is considered a hoax. It may be hard for some of us to believe that the virus caused by the monkey created a huge impact throughout the world.

  • Conspiracy Theory – CIA worked with the US pharmaceutical to gain profit:

    People cook their own conspiracy theories when they are bored. Some people claim that the diseases are increasing and viruses like COVID-19 are emerging to benefit the pharmaceutical companies. This theory comes along with almost every disease. It became an outburst when it was supported by Thabo Mbeki. In 2000, the South African President Thabo Mbeki claimed that the CIA and the US medicine companies would earn more profit from the diseases, thus introducing the deadly virus into the world. Whenever the disease occurs, the pharmaceutical companies are the major one to gain profit. So it is easy for the conspiracy theorists to target the government and the pharmaceutical companies without any evidence.

As people cannot accept the fact that it is not an artificial virus, Conspiracy theorists came up with the idea that the CIA created it. The CIA which has the capacity to create bio weapons to reduce the population is a common belief that circulated among the people. As there are no immediate measures taken by the government even when the virus spread during pregnancy caused immense rumors. Despite the fact that there is no need to control the population, some people accepted this theory.
