Though many believe this theory it was debunked due to lack of evidence. Many researchers believed that he may have created the land just for entertainment. 1. The short answer is that it’s a fantasy world. The long answer could be a combination of altitude and thermohaline circulation (ocean currents that transport water of different temperatures, thereby warming certain land masses while cooling others). For example, Montreal and Paris are at roughly the same latitude, but one has a much colder climate than the other. This is due to the Gulf Stream & North Atlantic drift that move warm water towards western Europe, thereby keeping it much warmer than the North American east coast, even though both are at similar latitudes.

  2. I grew up in New Jersey and my grandparents were regulars at Atlantic City. When they died, we went through their old stuff and found a ledger which described how much they won and lost there over the years. We did the math and it turns out had they not gambled there over the years they would have been able to pay for the college tuition of all four of their grandkids. That right there told me all I needed to know about gambling.

  3. I thought it was a really cool idea too. It started up the bay about 4 miles north and has
been traveling for 5 days. It seems like the big incoming tides recently have it floating up
the Patuxent River. Hopefully it makes its way back out to the bay and maybe even into
    the Atlantic!

  4. There are several conspiracy theories that correlate to this belief. They range from a
Biblical corollary (Adam & Eve in the garden of Eden was the first, followed by the
world where Atlantis existed, etc.) to an alien reptilian species that lives off of our life
source by imprisoning us using mind control, religion, and war.
At the very least, our cultures and religions have echoed this mythology multiple times in
    various places.
