After conducting a reverse search of keyframes from the viral video, we found a news report featuring a screenshot of the video. According to an MSN report dated October 24, 2023, the Afghan team celebrated their victory in a one-day international against Pakistan in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023.

We subsequently located the initial video posted on October 23, 2023, by Mohammad Nabi, the former captain of the Afghanistan cricket team. In the original footage, the players were audibly cheering together, interspersed with religious chants of “Allah-Hu-Akbar.” This video had also been shared by numerous social media users, including MSN journalist Faizul Haque, during that period.

According to news reports, the Afghan team was celebrating its third-ever victory at a Cricket World Cup, marking Pakistan’s first loss in a one-day international (ODI) against Afghanistan, which was ranked ninth at the time. Videos of players and fans celebrating surfaced on social media after this historic win.

It is evident that an older video featuring Afghan players was manipulated to depict them chanting “Vande Mataram” after the team’s qualification for the T20 World Cup semi-finals.
